Getting Started

How to Play

From a fresh title screen to facing the Shadow Sovereign — here's the whole journey. Move with the arrow keys (or WASD), confirm with Enter, and back out with Esc.

1

Start a new realm

From the main menu, choose New Game. You'll pick a world seed — keep the random one, or type your own. The same seed always builds the same world, so you can share a seed with a friend and explore an identical realm.

Roll your party

Build up to six heroes. Roll the six classic abilities, pick a race, and choose a class your stats qualify for — twelve in all, from sword-and-board Vanguards to spell-slinging Arcanists. Each starts with fitting gear.

Explore the world map

Travel a procedurally generated realm of towns, dungeons and stabilizer towers. Difficulty rises as you push outward from your starting region — and stepping onto wild tiles can trigger random encounters.

Visit towns

Towns are your safe harbor — buy supplies and gear from merchants, heal at the temple, take quests from townsfolk, and rest at the inn. Talk to everyone; some have stories (and rewards) to share.

Win the battle

Combat is turn-based and formation-aware: front-liners shield your casters in the back. Attack, cast, defend or flee — and every roll is shown on screen, so you can read exactly why a blow landed or missed.

Loot, equip, upgrade

Chests and bosses drop randomized magic gear — color-coded by rarity, named for its enchantments, and often wreathed in an element. The character sheet flags upgrades, shows set bonuses and magic find, and lets you disenchant surplus loot for gold.

Make camp & press on

Out in the wild, make camp to rest, recover HP and mana, review your party and save your progress. Then dive the dungeons, beat each realm's stabilizer-tower boss, and steady the world one region at a time.

Face the finale

Stabilize every realm and the Shadow Rift opens at the heart of the world. The Shadow Sovereign scales to your party for a real end-game showdown — and when it falls, a brand-new, freshly seeded world awaits.
